What a crazy, busy morning!! Today is Liezl's birthday, (I will post all of the festivities later) so we had a special birthday breakfast along with presents to open and cupcakes to finish to send to school. Today is also picture day which means we had curlers, hair straighteners, braids, bows, and outfit choices to keep us busy. And another extra to add in the mix, this morning Ava had her first day of preschool!!!! I have really enjoyed doing co-ops with other moms for preschool, but this year I just could not dedicate my time to it and Ava needs something special that is all her own.
She was quite nervous when first walking in, but reassured me that she would be "just fine."
Ava has been a different person this last year thanks to her special friend Ike. He has helped her be more outgoing and more comfortable in social settings. They have a very similar temperament and seem to just get each other. I think they are both excited to have friends that are their same gender, but even if they don't play with each other as much, I know she feels much more comfortable thanks to him.
On a side note, Ava's little no-teeth, chubby-cheek smile is EXACTLY how I smiled when I was little. I try to get her to put her chin up and show teeth, but it looks so much more goofy and forced. I can relate, I still don't know how to naturally smile for the camera.
