20 years from now, I can see our family sitting around talking about past Christmas memories. I am sure this year will come up:
-Remember that year when a couple of weeks before Christmas mom found lice in all of our hair? -Yah, she sure freaked out.
-Remember how stylish we looked walking around in shower caps? -I wonder why mom did not take any pictures. Why would she not want to remember how funny that was?
-Remember watching all of those shows while mom picked at our heads? -It was great missing all of that school.
-Remember the piles and piles of snowflakes we made while being quarantined in our house? -Didn't we also make gingerbread houses, ornaments, a construction paper fireplace, and Christmas presents?
-Remember when mom had our beautiful long hair cut short and told us it was our "holiday hair cuts?" -Yup, I was not terribly happy about that.
This Christmas season has defiantly been memorable, give me 20 years and I might be able to smile about it.

but their hair all looks so cute! at least their favorite giant teddy bear didn't go into hiding.. i am still looking for mine since i had tot go threw that...
Oh no!! What a nightmare!! Yeah, I think it will take a few years to smile about that.
We went through that this spring (my children will never wear the team batting helmets ever again). Just when I thought we had finally beat them, I'd find some newly hatched ones on one head or another. I don't know how long it has been for you, but keep checking for a few weeks if it hasn't been that long. The stuff that says it prevents them for 2 weeks LIES.
oh kristi I am sorry you had to go through that, I am so glad they love their hair cuts though :-) One Christmas you will never forget
I hate to admit that I smiled at your post because it reminded me of how sweet and positive you always are. I can't imagine dealing with live especially pregnant and this time of year. I am sure your girls will have much to remember about their happy childhood.
i remember the whole incident, not really laughing about it, but it was a learning experience that's for sure. just remember how blessed you are to be able to alleviate the problem with shampoo! (and tireless combing) one for the record books, but over i'm sure. the worst problem now is the itchy feeling on your head when you think about it! you are a great mom who acted responsibly! good job, and really cute haircuts!
rewsh--to gather
Wow! I remember when I got lice as a kid and I had really long hair. My mom watched Gone with the Wind while she picked it all out.
At least they all look really cute with their new haircuts. And at least it all happened a couple of weeks before Christmas instead of on Christmas Eve or something like that. Happy HOlidays!
I am also sad you had to deal with this. So gross. I would just cry. I'm glad it's over and at least it allowed you to spend time together...right?
I love the cute hair cuts! I am sorry you had to gO through it!!
