Oh what do you do in the Summertime?

We have really enjoyed our first few weeks of summer break. One of the first things we did was make our summer journals. We wrote down some goals, plans, and lists (heaven). The rest of the journal is for writing and drawing all the fun memories we will make. Some of Liezl's goals are to learn how to ride her bike and blow a bubble with gum. She has taken these goals very seriously. She bought herself a pack of gum and after a week of serious jaw exercising, she can now blow a bubble. She has also been getting on her bike almost every day (the bike has not been touched in over a year since we took the training wheels off) and is now able to check off another goal because today she did it!!!! Quincy has a goal to teach Jingle a trick and be a better swimmer and Ava's is to get potty trained. Here are some things we have done that have filled our journal pages so far:

-Garage Sale (don't think I will brave that one again, at least not on my own.)

-Ava is sleeping in a big bed sharing a beautiful, newly painted room with Quincy.

-Liezl has a room to herself.

-A quick visit from Emee before she goes to Germany for 7 weeks.

-Worm races, building a fairy house, and lots of swimming.

-Josh is finishing off his second year of Surgery Residency with a Resident Teaching Award (all the med. students voted on the most helpful resident when rotating through the surgery program, and Josh got the most votes.)

Liezl finished her second year of Daisy Girl Scouts.

Our garden is planted and giving us strawberries and peas to snack on.
